About Porsche

Porsche began as an engineering office founded in Stuttgart in 1931 by Ferdinand Porsche, who also designed the Volkswagen Beetle. His son Ferry built the first Porsche-badged car, the 356, in 1948, and the 911, introduced in 1963 with a rear-mounted flat-six engine, became the brand's icon.

Porsche has won Le Mans more often than any other manufacturer. Its range has included the 914, 924, 944 and 928, the 959, Boxster and Cayman, the Carrera GT and 918 Spyder, the Cayenne SUV (2002), the Panamera, the Macan and the electric Taycan (2019). Porsche AG is part of the Volkswagen Group.
