About Rolls-Royce
Rolls-Royce dates from 1904, when Charles Rolls met Henry Royce; Rolls-Royce Limited was founded in 1906, and its Silver Ghost of 1907 earned the reputation of "the best car in the world". The company also built aircraft engines and in 1931 took over Bentley.
In 1998 Volkswagen bought the car business, but BMW secured the Rolls-Royce name; since 2003 Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has been a BMW company with its plant in Goodwood. Its models include the Phantom, Silver Cloud, Silver Shadow, Ghost, Wraith, Dawn, the Cullinan SUV and the electric Spectre.
