Plymouth Muscle Cars
Plymouth, Chrysler's low-price brand, sold the Road Runner of 1968, a budget muscle car, beside the better-equipped GTX, the compact Duster 340 and the Barracuda pony car, whose 1970–1974 'Cuda could be ordered with the 426 Hemi. The brand was discontinued in 2001.

Plymouth Muscle Cars: questions and answers
Which Plymouth models are muscle cars?
On 1CARS: Plymouth Barracuda, Plymouth GTX, Plymouth Road Runner, Plymouth AAR Cuda, Plymouth Duster 340, Plymouth Hemi Cuda and Plymouth Superbird.
What is the most powerful Plymouth muscle car?
Among classic cars rated SAE gross: the Plymouth Barracuda (1964–1974), with 317 kW (431 PS · 425 hp). Since 1972 (SAE net): the Plymouth Road Runner (1968–1980), with 190 kW (258 PS · 255 hp).
Which Plymouth muscle car is the quickest?
The Plymouth Road Runner (1968–1980): 5.0 s from 0 to 100 km/h in the catalog data.
What is the difference between gross and net horsepower?
Until the 1971 model year American makers advertised SAE gross power, measured on an engine without accessories, air cleaner or full exhaust. From 1972 they switched to SAE net, measured as installed in the car. The same engine reads clearly lower in net, so 1960s and modern figures are not directly comparable — 1CARS ranks them separately.
