About Honda

Honda Motor Co. was founded in 1948 in Hamamatsu by Soichiro Honda. It grew into the world's largest motorcycle maker and built its first cars in 1963: the T360 kei truck and the S500 sports car.

Honda cars are known for efficient, high-revving engines with VTEC valve timing, the Civic (1972) and Accord (1976), the CR-V, the NSX sports car and the Type R models. Honda created the Acura brand in 1986 and has a long history in Formula One as an engine supplier.
