About Gumpert

Gumpert was a German sports car maker founded in 2004 by Roland Gumpert, formerly head of Audi Sport, and based in Denkendorf, Bavaria. Its only production model, the Gumpert Apollo, went into production in 2005: a mid-engined car with a tubular frame and an Audi-based twin-turbo V8, built to be road legal but at home on the race track.

The company filed for insolvency and went into liquidation in 2013. In 2016 it was bought by new investors and renamed Apollo Automobil, which went on to build the Apollo Arrow and the Intensa Emozione.
