About Bugatti
Bugatti was founded in 1909 by Ettore Bugatti in Molsheim, Alsace, and is regarded as a French brand. In the 1920s and 1930s it built some of the most admired cars of its time – the Type 35 racer, the Type 41 Royale and the Type 57 Atlantic. The original company faded after the Second World War.
The name was revived in Italy with the EB110 in 1991. In 1998 the Volkswagen Group acquired it and returned to Molsheim: the Veyron of 2005 was the first production car with 736 kW (1,001 PS), followed by the Chiron in 2016 and the hybrid Tourbillon. Since 2021 Bugatti has been run by Bugatti Rimac.
