About Fiat

Fiat (Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino) was founded in Turin in 1899; Giovanni Agnelli was among the founders, and his family led the company for more than a century. In 1923 Fiat opened the Lingotto factory with its famous rooftop test track.

Fiat became Italy's largest car maker and is best known for small cars: the Topolino (1936), the 600 (1955), the Nuova 500 (1957), the Panda, Uno and Punto, and the modern 500 of 2007. Fiat designs were also built under licence in Spain, Poland, Yugoslavia, Turkey and India. Fiat is now part of Stellantis.
