Which Fiat 600 to buy

Our verdict · Felix Hartmann

  • For the lowest price: the 1.2 Turbo with the manual gearbox, now the cheapest way into the range.
  • For mostly urban driving: the Hybrid 110 or 145, which use the electric motor at low speeds and return 4.8 l/100 km on paper.
  • For a home charger owner: the 600e, with up to 400 km of WLTP range and 100 kW charging, but a smaller boot.
  • For fun: the Abarth 600e, with up to 206 kW.

The Fiat 600 is a five-door small SUV that Fiat has built in Poland since 2023, on the same Stellantis platform as the Jeep Avenger. It arrived on 4 July 2023 as the electric 600e, a 48-volt petrol hybrid followed in September 2023, and from March 2026 a plain 1.2 turbo with a manual gearbox became the cheapest version. At 4.18 m it sits one size above the Fiat 500, whose round headlamps and badge-on-the-bonnet face it borrows.

In short

  • One generation so far (project code F364), on sale since 2023 and sold mainly in Europe; it is not offered in the United States.
  • Petrol: 1.2 three-cylinder turbo with 74 kW (100 PS) and a six-speed manual, or a 48-volt hybrid with 74 to 107 kW (100 to 145 PS) and a six-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
  • Electric 600e: 54 kWh battery, 115 kW (156 PS), up to 400 km WLTP and 100 kW DC charging; the Abarth 600e has 177 or 206 kW (240 or 280 PS).
  • In Germany the 600 starts at EUR 24,490 for the 1.2 Turbo Pop (ADAC, March 2026).

Fiat 600 at a glance

The 600 is a B-segment crossover with front-wheel drive only. Fiat developed it under the code F364, and it rides on Stellantis' small-car platform, the CMP/eCMP family that started at Groupe PSA. It is built in Poland next to the Jeep Avenger, and the electric drivetrain matches the Avenger's. It did not directly replace the Fiat 500X, which stayed in the range until 2024.

Dimensions, weights and the hybrid boot are ADAC figures for the 1.2 Hybrid of 2025; the 600e boot is from Auto Express.

The name is older than the car. The original Fiat 600 was a rear-engined small car built from 1955 to 1969 with engines of 633 to 767 cc, and the 600 badge returned in 1997 on the Fiat Seicento. The modern crossover shares nothing but the number.

Fiat 600 (crossover) F364 2023- 5-door SUV 1.2 turbo petrol, 1.2 48V hybrid, electric 74-206 kW / 100-280 PS

Fiat started with the electric car. The 600e was unveiled on 4 July 2023, the anniversary of the original Fiat 500, and the mild hybrid followed in September 2023. ADAC lists the first German hybrid with 74 kW (100 PS) from January 2024, a 100 kW (136 PS) version from July 2024, and a switch to 81 kW (110 PS) and 107 kW (145 PS) outputs in April 2025. In March 2026 a 1.2 Turbo without the hybrid module, paired with a six-speed manual, became the entry model.

The Abarth 600e was teased in February 2024, its interior shown on 2 April 2024 and the full car revealed on 28 October 2024.

The hybrid is a 1,199 cc three-cylinder turbo with a 21 kW electric motor built into the six-speed dual-clutch gearbox, plus a 48-volt belt starter-generator. In the 81 kW (110 PS) version the engine alone makes 74 kW, the system 81 kW and 205 Nm; ADAC lists 10.5 seconds to 100 km/h and a top speed of 184 km/h (114 mph). The electric motor can move the car on its own at low speed, but this is a mild hybrid with no plug.

The 600e uses a single front motor with 115 kW (156 PS). Wikipedia gives it the same 260 Nm as the Jeep Avenger, and ecomento lists 9.0 seconds to 100 km/h and a 150 km/h (93 mph) top speed. The Abarth 600e raises output to 177 kW, or 206 kW in Scorpionissima form, with 344 Nm in both. Use our power converter if you think in horsepower.

Space and practicality

The cabin uses the 500e's steering wheel and climate controls and the Avenger's centre console. Fiat claims about 15 litres of small-item storage around the cabin, according to Parkers. Rear legroom is the weak point: both Auto Express and Parkers describe it as tight for a car of this length.

The hybrid's boot holds 385 litres and up to 1,256 litres with the rear bench folded. The 600e has 360 litres with a two-level floor. Parkers notes that this is 115 litres less than a Kia Niro EV and 110 litres less than an MG ZS EV. ADAC lists a 427 kg payload and 1,100 kg braked towing for the 81 kW (110 PS) hybrid.

Fuel economy, range and running costs

ADAC gives the Hybrid 110 a WLTP figure of 4.8 l/100 km and 109 g/km of CO2. Its sub-cycles show where a mild hybrid helps: 3.8 l/100 km on short trips but 5.8 l/100 km on the motorway.

The 600e is rated at 15.1 kWh/100 km and up to 400 km (249 miles) on the WLTP cycle; UK figures are 254 miles for the Red and 252 miles for the La Prima. DC charging peaks at 100 kW, and Auto Express quotes 27 minutes from 20 to 80 percent, although its own data table gives 88 kW and 29 minutes from 30 to 80 percent. AC charging runs at up to 11 kW. Green NCAP awarded the 600e five stars for efficiency in September 2025. Our fuel cost calculator compares the two drivetrains on your own mileage.

In Germany Fiat gives a two-year vehicle warranty and eight years against rust perforation (ADAC).

Trims, equipment and prices

The launch 600e came as the entry Red (Product Red) in black, white or red, and the La Prima, which adds interior upgrades and four colours named after Italian landscapes: Sun (orange), Sea (green), Earth (sand) and Sky (blue). The 600 was the first Fiat after the brand stopped offering grey paint in June 2023. German hybrids now come as Pop, Icon, Business Edition, La Prima and Sport.

All prices are ADAC list prices. The first German hybrid cost EUR 25,490 in January 2024. ecomento listed the 600e from EUR 31,490 in February 2026. In the UK the 600e started at GBP 32,995 for the Red and GBP 36,995 for the La Prima in September 2023, about EUR 38,300 and EUR 42,900 at the time.

Safety

We could not find a Euro NCAP crash-test rating for the Fiat 600 itself in the sources checked for this article; ADAC's data sheets for the 600 do not list one, and Parkers states that Euro NCAP had not tested the 600e. The closely related Jeep Avenger, on the same platform, received three stars in September 2024, with 79 percent for adult occupants, 70 percent for children, 59 percent for vulnerable road users and 53 percent for safety assist. That result does not automatically transfer to the Fiat, so check the safety ratings page before buying.

Reliability and known issues

The 600 has been on sale for about three years, too short a time for meaningful breakdown statistics, and none of the sources we used report a recurring fault. The 1.2 hybrid and the electric drive are shared with several Stellantis models, so parts supply should be broad. A reversing camera was only standard on the La Prima at launch, which Parkers flags as a nuisance given the thick rear pillars.
