  • For the lowest price: the 1.2 Turbo Pop eDCT at €19,990 in Germany (2026), with an automatic gearbox.
  • For electric driving: the Electric Pop, €25,990 in Germany (2025), with 320 km WLTP and 100 kW DC charging.
  • For a smaller, cheaper Fiat: the Pandina, from €16,490 in Germany (2026).

The history of Fiat and the Fiat catalogue cover the brand's other models, among them the Fiat 500.

The Fiat Grande Panda is a B-segment hatchback that Fiat presented on 14 June 2024 and has built since January 2025. It shares Stellantis' Smart Car Platform with the fourth-generation Citroën C3 and the Opel Frontera. Buyers choose between a mild hybrid with a 1.2 turbo petrol engine and a fully electric version. Wikipedia counts it as the fourth Panda generation, marketed as the Grande Panda to set it apart from the smaller third generation, which stays on sale alongside it.

Design and the Panda name

Fiat presented the car on 14 June 2024. The interior and the full specifications followed on 11 July 2024, at Fiat's 125th-anniversary event on the La Pista 500 track of the Lingotto building in Turin. The styling team at Centro Stile Fiat was led by François Leboine. At 3,999 mm the Grande Panda is just under four metres long, and Wikipedia gives a boot of 412 litres, 60% more than the previous Panda.

The first Panda appeared in 1980. The Grande Panda does not replace the third-generation Panda, which remains in production at Pomigliano d'Arco in Italy. Since summer 2024 it has been sold as the Pandina in 12 European countries, Germany among them. ADAC's August 2026 list prices the Pandina 1.0 GSE Hybrid Pop at €16,490.

Where the Grande Panda is built

Production started in January 2025 at three plants: Fiat Serbia in Kragujevac, Stellantis Tafraoui in Algeria and FCA do Brasil in Betim, Brazil. The smaller Pandina is not built there; it continues at Pomigliano d'Arco in Italy, where the third-generation Panda remains in production.

The petrol model uses Stellantis' 1.2 turbo three-cylinder (EB2LTEDH2) with a small electric assist. Wikipedia gives kerb weights from 1,220 kg, and ADAC lists 1,532 kg for the Electric Pop. The lightest hybrid is therefore roughly 300 kg lighter than the electric car, by 1cars' comparison of the two sources. ADAC's August 2026 list of new cars below €20,000 includes the 1.2 Turbo Pop eDCT at exactly €19,990.

A coiled charging cable is stored behind a flap with the Fiat logo at the front of the car. According to Wikipedia this built-in cable supports AC charging at up to 7.4 kW; for 11 kW a separate cable is used. ADAC lists a two-year vehicle warranty and eight years or 160,000 km for the battery.

In ADAC's November 2025 comparison of six affordable electric cars the Grande Panda Electric RED came second with an overall grade of 2.5, behind the Hyundai Inster (2.3). The club found its performance solid but its equipment slightly poorer than the winner's.

At ADAC's WLTP figure of 16.8 kWh/100 km, the 43.8 kWh usable battery corresponds to about 260 km between full charges. This is a 1cars calculation; the official WLTP range is 320 km. ADAC places the Electric in German insurance classes 15 (liability), 24 (comprehensive) and 18 (partial cover).
