The new CIA Honda was the fifth generation to be presented in Detroit for the first time at the car showroom. A little later (after a month), Los Angeles allowed the others to see the official presentation of the compact crossover.
The new Honda CR V 2016 was launched in Europe in March 2017 at the Geneva Motor Show.

The design staff of the Japanese company Honda has successfully managed to elegantly conceal the actual dimensions of its own new product, with the help of sharp lines, which are emphasized by muscular fenders and detailed optical light amplification technology. The rear lights are massive, with a transparent, decorative plastic insert that extends beyond the bodywork. Very unusual, but taking into account all this, orange “rotary” lamps were made in the form of small vertical lines, which are almost invisible in the daytime.
Honda’s 5th generation CR-V salon is still a five-seater salon with a very comfortable fit. Rear passengers feel comfortable in any position of the driver’s seat. The central console is ergonomically designed. Therefore, all major controls are easily accessible to the driver. The front panel is equipped as we have already mentioned with the Connect multimedia centre with seven-inch touchscreen display.

All the regulators, as well as the keys that the driver needs on a daily basis, were perfectly labeled and easily accessible. Honda CR-V 5th generation mower unit
Standard machines LX, decided to equip with a four-cylinder engine with a volume of 2.4 liters, which produces 184 horsepower. However, the main news of 2017 is the introduction of a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine, which will be delivered as a standard for all other modifications. Its power is 190 “horses”. Transmission 5th generation
Normal conditions show that the new 1.5-liter engine is quite lively and energetic. To some extent, this was achieved thanks to Honda’s variator, which, as with Accord and Civic, received a torque converter snap, which provides smooth initial acceleration.
The 2017 model variator is able to simulate the operation of a standard automatic box, adjusting the engine in normal driving conditions. This may not be the most effective solution, considering the side of fuel consumption, but it allows you to achieve maximum comfort for the psychological component of the driver. After all, then Honda does not receive typical complaints about the functioning of the variator.
The all-wheel drive system Real Time AWD can only be installed for a fee ($1,300). It can direct up to 40% of the torque to the rear wheels. Thanks to the design changes, the torque to the rear axle has been increased by 57 percent. The all-wheel drive system cannot be set up, it is always active and automatically selects which wheels require traction. In other words, the company began to believe that CP-B consumers do not need to use special modes to overcome off-road conditions. On a wet or snow-covered track, the Real Time AWD function, which does not need to be switched on in a special order, justifies itself most of all.
The car’s suspension is very reliable and is based on McPherson’s racks. Its rear part is multilever with additional stabilizers of transverse stability. For example, when slipping, the Intellectual Real Time 4WD function connects the rear axle. The all-wheel-drive system constantly interacts with the steering system and the electric power steering to ensure that it responds even to the smoothest turns of the steering wheel by the driver.
The front suspension has already familiar McPherson racks, but still has springs with shock absorbers, which are adjusted more comfortably. In addition, they have reinforced the subframe, increased the angle of the caster and reshaped the geometry so that the inner wheel remains on the vertical axis for a longer period of time when turning, which in turn increases the grip on the road surface.
Cars for Europe and America have front and rear stabilizers with different thicknesses (23 and 17 against 20 and 19, respectively). In the event that the service determines the probability of impact, the driver will receive visual and audible warning signals.
When nothing changes, the system will start to emit a signal that will look like a triple jerk of the seatbelt and the vehicle will be stopped. Speaking of the final stage (if the impact is unavoidable), the system will tighten the seatbelts of the driver and the front passenger sitting next to him and apply the maximum braking force.
Many models in 2017 received a package of Honda Sensing, which has modern technology in the niche of safety, which can be attributed to systems: collision avoidance, warning of exit from the occupied lane, warning that you have moved off the road, adaptive cruise control and assistance in driving on the occupied lane. Instead of the LaneWatch service, which displayed a picture of what was happening on the right side of the machine on the central screen, the novelty of 2017 received a more standard function of notification of interference in blind areas in the form of an indicator that flashes on the rearview mirror.
