About Citroen
Citroën was founded in Paris in 1919 by André Citroën, who brought American-style mass production to Europe with the Type A. The brand became known for bold engineering: the front-wheel-drive Traction Avant (1934), the 2CV (1948) and the DS (1955) with its hydropneumatic suspension, followed by the SM, CX and XM.
Michelin took control of Citroën in the 1930s, Peugeot in 1976 – forming PSA – and since 2021 Citroën has been part of Stellantis. Its current range includes the C3, C4, C5 Aircross and Berlingo, and the small electric Ami.
