About Iran Khodro
Iran Khodro (IKCO) is one of Iran's main vehicle makers. It was founded in Tehran in 1962 as Iran National by the brothers Ahmad and Mahmoud Khayami and is listed on the Tehran Stock Exchange.
In 1967 it launched the Paykan, based on the Hillman Hunter, which was built until 2005. It was followed by the Samand of 2001, Iran's next "national car", and later by the Dena and Runna sedans. Iran Khodro has also built Peugeot models under licence, including the 405, Pars and 206.
