About UAZ
UAZ (Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant) was set up in Ulyanovsk in 1941, when part of the ZIS plant was evacuated there during the Second World War. In the 1950s it took over production of the GAZ-69 off-roader and became a specialist in four-wheel-drive vehicles.
UAZ is known for the UAZ-450 and UAZ-452 van family, the UAZ-469 off-roader of 1972 and its successor the Hunter, and the Patriot SUV and Pickup.
