About Cadillac

Cadillac was founded in Detroit in 1902 by Henry Leland and William Murphy and named after Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac, the founder of the city. It joined General Motors in 1909 and has been GM's luxury brand ever since.

Cadillac introduced the electric self-starter in 1912 and a mass-produced V8 in 1915, and for decades stood for the big American luxury car, with models like the Eldorado, Fleetwood and DeVille. Today's range includes the Escalade SUV, the CT4 and CT5 sedans and electric models led by the Lyriq.
