TagAZ (Taganrog Automobile Plant) was a car assembly plant in the port city of Taganrog on the Sea of Azov. Construction began in spring 1997, and pilot production started in 1998. The plant began with Daewoo models built under licence by Doninvest, including cars based on the Lanos, Nubira and Leganza.

From 2001 TagAZ also assembled Hyundai models, starting with the Accent and later adding the Sonata, the Porter van, the Elantra and the Santa Fe; Hyundai production ended in spring 2012. From 2008 the plant built Chinese cars, partly under its own Vortex brand based on Chery models, as well as the BYD F3. TagAZ also developed models of its own: the Tager off-roader and the Road Partner, both based on SsangYong designs, the JAC-based C10 and C190 of 2011 and the TagAZ Aquila saloon. The company was declared bankrupt on 21 January 2014. Read more: the history of TagAZ. See also Daewoo and Hyundai.
