Vortex was a car brand used by the TagAZ plant in Taganrog, on the Sea of Azov, for cars developed by the Chinese maker Chery. The brand appeared in 2008 and was used until TagAZ went bankrupt in 2014. At the same plant TagAZ also assembled Hyundai and BYD cars and models of its own.

The first Vortex model was the Estina, a rebadged Chery A5 saloon, whose assembly began in 2008. It was followed in 2010 by the Vortex Corda and the Vortex Tingo, a version of the Chery Tiggo compact SUV. The cars were assembled from Chery kits and sold under the Vortex name. In 2008, when Vortex production began, TagAZ built more than 106,000 vehicles in total, but output fell to about 29,000 the following year. TagAZ was declared bankrupt on 21 January 2014, which ended the Vortex brand. Read more about the plant: the history of TagAZ. See also Chery and TagAZ.
