About MG
MG stands for Morris Garages, the Oxford dealership of William Morris, where Cecil Kimber began building sporty versions of Morris cars in the early 1920s. MG became known for affordable two-seat sports cars: the T-series, the MGA (1955), the MGB (1962) – one of the best-selling British sports cars – and the Midget.
MG later belonged to BMC, British Leyland and Rover. After MG Rover collapsed in 2005 the brand passed to Nanjing Automobile and then to SAIC, which now builds MG cars such as the ZS, HS, the electric MG4 and the Cyberster roadster.
