About Great Wall
Great Wall Motor (GWM) is a privately owned Chinese car maker headquartered in Baoding, Hebei province. It grew out of a repair workshop opened in 1976, became a vehicle maker in 1984 and has been led by Wei Jianjun since 1990.
Great Wall made its name with pickups and affordable SUVs: the Hover, launched in 2005 and later renamed Haval H3, gave its name to the Haval SUV brand. The group now also sells cars under the Wey, Tank and Ora brands, and its pickups under the Poer name.
