About Lada
Lada is the car brand of AvtoVAZ, whose plant in Tolyatti began production in 1970 with the VAZ-2101, a car developed from the Fiat 124 under an agreement signed with Fiat in 1966. The Lada name was first used for export models; at home the cars were sold as Zhiguli.
Lada is known for the rear-wheel-drive "classic" family (2101–2107), the Niva of 1977 – now the Lada 4x4, an early compact off-roader with a unibody and permanent four-wheel drive – the front-wheel-drive Samara, and later the 110, Priora, Kalina, Granta and Vesta.
