Lada 4×4 Vision

Not so long ago, the Russian Automotive Company presented a new car with a new exterior and a large number of the newest devices. The novelty was named Lada 4×4 Vision. The new model meets all the standards of an energetic person. It is also pleasant that the new Lada has all the details of a real off-road car.

This presentation was held at the Moscow Motor Show as part of the 2018 MMAS. To date, this is only a real conceptual version. The car in serial production can be expected not earlier than 2021. But for this considerable time a lot of things can change. The whole range of models is Lada.

Exterior

A design team under the patronage of the popular stylist Steve Mattin worked on the appearance of the Russian novelty. This specialist has been working for a long time at the Volga Automobile Plant. Over a long period of time, many people have heard that our automotive industry is a bit inferior in terms of design, but the new 4×4 Niva has not been affected.

The design team was able to work hard, so at the presentation of the off-road concept many people were pleasantly surprised. Many people call the car a real miracle, indicating the brilliant prospects of the Russian automotive industry. Some motorists, while visiting the exterior of Nova Niva 2018, note a small proximity to the well-known Niva.

The nose area of the Lada 4×4 Vision 2018 has a huge radiator grille, unusual headlights and large air intakes. The concept SUV Niva 2018 has a multi-level LED headlamp and stylish LED position lights. The car has a massive bumper, which has an integrated protection, located at the bottom.

The Lada 4×4 vision side part has a stylish appearance. There are unique indents in front and behind. Very much like the huge arches of the wheels, which place 21-inch “rollers”, as well as the windows, received a straight sill line. It is very important that the combination of elements perfectly harmonizes with each other and forms the assembled look.

The x-face inserts on the front of the body and the characteristic X-shaped indentations on the side of the vehicle are striking. This can be traced back to the Lada Vesta and Lada Xray production vehicles. Unusually, but the car does not have a central stand. The rear door handles are hidden and it feels like a three-door car. The SUV has received small overhangs, solid ground clearance and even ventilation slots, which are placed on the rear roof posts (again, there is a connection with the famous Niva).

Interestingly, the designers provided for the Lada 4×4 Vision 2018 two openings on the side wings. One of them opens access to the fuel tank, and the other has a 220-volt socket for charging electrical appliances.

The back of the Lada Vision 4×4 concept has a unique style. There is a presence of the dimensional lanterns which have received light-emitting diode filling and the cruciform form. Bumper sirloin received branded finishes of the manufacturer.

Speaking in general, the exhibition model Lada 4×4 Vision turned out to be rather brutal and charismatic. The chief designer managed to create an excellent appearance of the conceptual version, using all the details of modern AvtoVAZ vehicles.

Interior

The interior of the conceptual version has a four-seater layout with 2 independent seats on the back row. Interestingly, even the rear seats received a strong lateral support. Selected X-style can be traced in the interior design of the cabin.

There is a uniquely designed digital dashboard, touch screen multimedia system and the necessary minimalism of the control elements of the climate system. Unusually, but inside you can find a single lever gearbox (automatic transmission). Underneath it there is a large washer-selector type drive and the choice of the current travel mode.

As it will be pleasant to all judges of “mechanical”, it is necessary to guess while still. If to speak as a whole, inside the car has received brutal style with the huge forward panel which is supplemented by rough deflectors of ventilating system and the massive central tunnel. The interior is solid, stylish and attractive.

There is a sporty and multifunctional steering wheel, which is cut in a sporty way below, seats with clear rollers of side support, as well as bright colors of finishing materials. The free space is enough on all positions, and the interior is surprisingly comfortable.

At the moment, it is not clear what kind of design awaits the production of Lada 4×4 Niva cars. But one thing is certain – this car will open a new page in the domestic automotive industry and ensure a good future not only in the Russian market.

Specifications

At present, the automotive community does not have sufficient information about the vehicle, except for its external elements. Such “secrecy” can also include data on dimensions and technical parts. It is known that the domestic SUV will be developed on the “bogie” Duster. However, here it is not a question of the car known to us, and the crossover of the 2nd family, already appeared in the market of Europe.

It turns out that the Lada 4×4 Vision concept will receive an improved suspension, a new steering device with the ability to adjust the speaker outreach and an expanded arsenal of electronic equipment. The new vehicle should be driven by a 1.8-liter, 122 hp petrol-powered powertrain.

Speaking of transmission, according to some data, the specialists of the Volga Automobile Plant still do not know exactly what to do. In order to preserve the passability of the original Niva car, the company still plans to create its own gearbox, which will have a permanent four-wheel drive and a demultiplier. However, everything is to blame for the high cost.

To develop a new gearbox for the base of Renault Duster requires a lot of money. Proceeding from this, it is possible to draw a conclusion that the new car Lada Niva 4×4 will receive all-wheel drive system from “Duster”. There will be a clutch to connect the rear wheels and a very short first gear instead of reducing the speed.

Safety

Due to the fact that the conceptual version of the Niva is still in terms of improvements, it remains to guess what will have a serial machine. Based on the words of the chief designer, the serial car will most likely get the most necessary security systems.

For example, a big bet will be made on electronic assistants for off-road cars. Here it is possible to bring system of tracking of an inclination of a body, the assistant at descent, technology of stabilization and other things.

Release date and price

It is too early to engage in a dialogue about the price tag of the new version of Vision 4×4, because it is not clear whether there will be a new production line at all. The main problem lies in the cost of the new Niva, as too large a price tag is able to seriously reduce the positive sales statistics. To date, an ordinary Niva is sold for $7358. Top equipment is estimated from $10224.

Taking into account the appearance, interior, technical part and equipment of the new generation Lada 4×4, it is easy to conclude that the cost will be much higher. The exact data on the appearance of a commercial vehicle in the company does not stipulate. However, before 2020 or 2021, the SUV should not be expected.

Competitors

Since we are only looking at the concept of Lada Vision 2018 and the car is not yet in serial production, it is not easy to track the competition in the market. But specialists in this field have already been able to prepare a “shortsheet” of the main competitors of the off-road version. These are Renault Duster and Hyundai Creta.

Withdrawals

After getting acquainted with the conceptual version of Lada 4×4 Vision 2018, there are still mixed feelings. On the one hand, the car received a very interesting and original design, stylish stampings, bright and modern interior, high ground clearance and good equipment. On the other hand, many motorists believe that the serial version of the SUV will not get much from this concept.

After all, with such innovations, a vehicle will be very expensive. As it will be in reality, only time will show. Before the release of the serial version will have to wait a few years. However, if the AvtoVAZ company still decides to buy this car, many people are 100% likely to want to buy it.

Now domestic SUVs will be able to compete well even with European and Japanese models. But we won’t stop ahead for the time being. Time will put everything in its place.
