Dongfeng Motor Corporation is a Chinese state-owned vehicle maker headquartered in Wuhan, Hubei province. It was founded in 1969 as the Second Automobile Works at a remote site in Hubei that later became the city of Shiyan, and it built its reputation on trucks such as the EQ240 of 1975 and the EQ140 of 1978. The name Dongfeng means "East Wind".
Trucks remain a core business of the group, but Dongfeng also builds passenger cars in joint ventures and under its own brands. The Dongfeng Citroën venture, later Dongfeng Peugeot-Citroën, began in 1992, and Dongfeng Nissan and Dongfeng Honda both date from 2003; Dongfeng left its Kia venture in 2021. Its own brands are Aeolus, launched in 2009 as Fengshen, Forthing, the premium electric Voyah and M-Hero. Its own models include the Dongfeng S30 saloon and the Dongfeng H30 Cross.
