Dongfeng S30

Dongfeng S30 is a passenger car manufactured by Chinese company Dongfeng. Production of the car began in 2009, 4 years later, in 2013 it was updated. On the Russian market, the car from the celestial sky has been offered since 2014. The model was designed on the basis of Citroen C-Elysee sedan of the first generation for the Chinese automotive market. The whole model range is Dongfeng.

Exterior

Of course, it is worth noting at once that the appearance is not particularly sophisticated, but for a budget car it is not the main goal. Speaking in general, the exterior is quite pleasant, we can even say modern, and not deprived of flashy details. Between them it is possible to allocate overtampings on a hood and unique oblong fog headlights which are combined with daytime headlights and are built in a forward bumper.

The radiator grille includes horizontal lines that do not reach the edge of the chrome rim at the edges. Attention is drawn to the rear lamps that have been connected to the luggage compartment lid. The lid itself is made of a chromium-coated strip, which lasts as far as the lanterns.

Speaking in general, it is worth noting that the Donfeng S 30 sedan is completely devoid of Eastern butaphoria, he is a full-fledged European. The slightly raised rear part with flashlights on the wings adds elegance to the already beautiful connected chrome insert.

The only thing that can be embarrassing is the simple wheels, which can not fit into a pretty attractive look of 30s at all. They have a diameter of 15 inches. The only thing left to do is to install the light alloy ones, then this obvious defect will just go away.  The ground clearance is 150 mm, which is basically enough, considering the quality of our roads.

Interior

After entering the interior of Dongfeng S30 sedan, pleasant feelings from the car from the sky only continue. There are only calibrated, neat strokes here. It is worth mentioning for the insertion under the dark lacquer wood, which was made, as it seems, much better than on other cars of Japanese business class.

A considerable amount of chrome can make you worry about its durability, but everything is very decent on the new car. Despite the fact that the material from which the salon was made, it is plastic, but it feels and looks good.

Most of the elements have been fitted to a good level, except for a couple of parts. The gaps between the front panel and door cards and in the glovebox lid are not too small. The dashboard looks very interesting and has been framed with chrome, which makes it difficult to feel like a budget car.

The chairs are comfortable to sit on and are very soft. They are made of fabric as standard, and in the top version they come with leather trim, which can not but please. Driver’s seat can be easily adjusted in 6 directions, and located next door, passenger’s seat in 4 directions.

The steering wheel is finished in leather and has wooden inserts – it also has tilt and offset adjustments. The sofa at the back is designed for three passengers, and since there is no tunnel and the width of the cabin is quite good, they will feel quite comfortable.

The armrest mounted on the rear sofa is very comfortable and has a pair of cup holders. As an additional convenience, the designers decided to use individual illumination and pockets installed in the backrests of the seats of the drivers and front passenger.

The length of the car is quite long enough to make tall people feel comfortable. In the top version, the steering wheel has keys to configure the multimedia system and cruise control. On the central console the screen of the onboard computer which covers a small visor has found its place.

Underneath it there was a display and 6.5 inches diagonal with touch input support, which is used not only for entertainment, but also for displaying the rear view camera image. Luggage compartment has 487 liters of free space.

Specifications

As a power unit for the Dongfeng S30 sedan Japanese manufacturers have decided to install a gasoline engine with a capacity of 1.6 liters, which can develop 117 horsepower. Synchronized engine operation with 5-speed manual or 4-range automatic transmission.

Suspension was applied independent, spring type McPherson. Maximum speed of the car is 187 km/h, and the first hundred of the car reaches 11 seconds. With any of the transmissions, fuel consumption will be approximately 6.9 liters per 100 km.

Price policy of Dongfeng S30 sedan in the Russian Federation starts from $7981 for the version of Comfort MT with a mechanical box. For the version of Luxury with an automatic 4-band box will have to pay $9078. The basic equipment includes front and side airbags, ABS, air conditioning, power windows on all windows, electrically powered side mirrors and 4-speaker audio system. In expensive modifications instead of the conditioner there is a single-zone climate control and the hatch with electric drive.

Its advantages begin with not so much exquisite, but rather attractive appearance, and smoothly flow quite pleasant interior, where everything is in its place, and nothing falls into extremes. The touchscreen is nice and the front panel is nice.

The engine is not the most powerful, but it allows you to feel confident in climbing and overtaking, and a small amount of fuel consumption will allow you to save on it. A large clearance and a large luggage compartment is perfect for urban transport. The qualitative salon, abundance of various options and a rich arsenal even in a base complete set, will not leave anybody indifferent.
