About Jaguar

Jaguar began as the Swallow Sidecar Company, founded in Blackpool in 1922 by William Lyons and William Walmsley. The Jaguar name first appeared on the SS Jaguar of 1935, and in 1945 the company, by then in Coventry, was renamed Jaguar Cars.

Jaguar is known for the XK120 (1948), five Le Mans victories in the 1950s with the C-Type and D-Type, the E-Type (1961) and the XJ saloon (1968). It was owned by Ford from 1990 to 2008 and since then by Tata Motors, together with Land Rover as JLR; recent models include the XE, XF, F-Type, F-Pace and the electric I-Pace.
