About Spyker
The Spyker name goes back to a Dutch coachbuilder founded in 1880 by the brothers Jacobus and Hendrik-Jan Spijker, which built the Golden Coach of the Dutch royal family, cars from 1898 – among them the 60 HP of 1903, an early four-wheel-drive car with a six-cylinder engine – and aircraft during the First World War.
Victor Muller and Maarten de Bruijn revived the brand in 1999 as Spyker Cars, building the Audi V8-powered C8 Spyder and Laviolette with aviation-inspired details, later the C8 Aileron and the Preliator. Spyker owned Saab from 2010 to 2011; the company went bankrupt in 2014 and again in 2021.
