About MAN
MAN is a German maker of trucks, buses and engines, headquartered in Munich. Its roots go back to the St. Antony ironworks in Oberhausen, founded in 1758; the name stands for Maschinenfabrik Augsburg-Nürnberg. At the Augsburg works Rudolf Diesel developed the first working diesel engine in the 1890s.
MAN built its first truck in 1915. Today MAN Truck & Bus, part of the Volkswagen Group's Traton, makes the TGL, TGM, TGS and TGX trucks, the Lion's City buses and the Lion's Coach.
