Development and production
Škoda announced the name in April 2023 and revealed the car in Prague on 1 October 2024. Production started on 22 January 2025 on a line it shares with the Enyaq and the Octavia. To make room, part of Octavia production moved to the Kvasiny plant in 2024.
The design follows the Vision 7S concept. The Elroq has a closed front panel instead of a grille and narrow headlights. The RS version was unveiled on 3 April 2025 with two motors and 250 kW.

For the 2027 model year, the 60 switched to a 58 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery with 140 kW (190 PS), and the 85x rose to 220 kW (299 PS). ADAC lists both changes from April 2026.

Elroq RS
The RS is the sporty top version. It was unveiled on 3 April 2025 and uses one motor on each axle, giving all-wheel drive and a combined 250 kW. Its usable battery is 79 kWh in the 2025 cars and 77 kWh from the 2027 model year, when the DC charging peak is quoted at 165 kW and the 10–80 percent charge at 29 minutes. ADAC lists the RS as a separate model with the code NY, built since 2025, but showed no prices for it when this article was written.
Charging
All versions charge at up to 11 kW on AC. According to Autonotizen.de, the Elroq 50 accepts up to 145 kW DC and needs 25 minutes from 10 to 80 percent; the Elroq 85 peaked at 175 kW and needed 28 minutes.
In June 2025 the 85 changed cell supplier from LG to CATL, and the maximum DC power fell from 175 to 135 kW. Škoda still quoted 28 minutes for 10–80 percent. In a 2026 test by fDrive both versions of the 85 took about 28 minutes, while the LG car charged faster on shorter stops. From the 2027 model year Škoda gives 26 minutes for the 60 and 29 minutes for the 85.
Interior and practicality
The boot holds 470 litres and 1,580 litres with the rear seats folded, according to Autonotizen.de. The 2027 model-year update, announced in March 2026, added a 21-litre front compartment, Android-based infotainment, one-pedal driving and vehicle-to-load power output.
In the Autonotizen.de test the Elroq 85 used 15.5 kWh/100 km on the on-board computer. The Elroq 50 used just over 18 kWh/100 km at motorway speed in Spain, where the limit is 120 km/h.
