The smaller Opel SUV is described in our guide to the Opel Mokka, and the platform sister in the article on the Peugeot 3008. The brand's compact hatchback is covered in the history of the Opel Astra, and all versions are in the Opel catalogue.
The Opel Grandland is a compact SUV in two generations. The first, launched in 2017 as the Grandland X, was developed under General Motors ownership on the PSA EMP2 platform of the Peugeot 3008 and was renamed simply Grandland with its 2021 facelift. The second generation, revealed on 22 April 2024, is the third Stellantis model on the STLA Medium platform and is offered as a mild hybrid, plug-in hybrid or electric car. In the UK the model is sold as the Vauxhall Grandland.

First generation: Grandland X (2017–2024)
Opel revealed the Grandland X on 18 April 2017 as its flagship crossover and showed it at the Frankfurt Motor Show that year. Orders opened in June 2017, and by September 2018 more than 100,000 had been placed. The Grandland X replaced the Antara and, from 2019, also took the place of the Zafira. It shares the EMP2 platform with the Peugeot 3008 and 5008, the DS 7 Crossback and the Citroën C5 Aircross; because it was developed while Opel belonged to GM, its design is registered by General Motors.
Wikipedia lists petrol and diesel engines with 88 kW (120 PS), 97 kW (132 PS), 133 kW (180 PS) and 150 kW (204 PS). Autonotizen.de tested the Hybrid4 plug-in hybrid with all-wheel drive in 2021 and the GSe top model in 2023.

The 2021 facelift and the new name
Opel revealed the facelift in June 2021 and dropped the "X" from the name. The facelift brought the "Vizor" front of the Mokka, matrix LED headlights, a new interior with two screens, a new selector for the automatic gearbox and more safety equipment. ADAC lists the facelifted car from 2022 to 2024.
The ADAC breakdown statistics show how the first generation improved over its life: 24.9 breakdowns per 1,000 vehicles for cars registered in 2018, 17.8 for 2019, 14.6 for 2020, 9.1 for 2021, 5.0 for 2022 and 4.7 for 2023.

Second generation (since 2024)
The new Grandland was revealed on 22 April 2024. It uses the STLA Medium platform, like the Peugeot 5008 and the new Jeep Compass, and offers three drive types.
