Vauxhall Motors is a British car maker headquartered in Coventry. It traces its roots to 1857, when Alexander Wilson founded a firm in Vauxhall, London, making pumps and marine engines. It built its first car, a single-cylinder model, in 1903, moved most production to Luton in 1905 and took the Vauxhall Motors name in 1907.

The Vauxhall Prince Henry (C-type) appeared in 1911. In 1925 General Motors bought the company for 2.5 million US dollars, and Bedford was set up in 1930–1931 for commercial vehicles. The Ellesmere Port plant opened in 1962 and began building cars in 1964. Later models included the Viva of 1963, the Astra of 1980, the Nova of 1983 and, from 1993, the Vauxhall Corsa. In 2017 Groupe PSA bought Vauxhall from GM, and since January 2021 it has been part of Stellantis. The Luton plant closed in March 2025, with electric vans now built at Ellesmere Port.
