The Ferrari 12Cilindri is the two-seat, front-engined V12 grand tourer that replaced the 812 Superfast in 2024. Its name is Italian for "12 cylinders" and refers to the naturally aspirated 6.5-litre engine under the long bonnet, which makes it the most powerful V12 Ferrari has fitted to a series-production road car. It is built in Maranello as a berlinetta and as a Spider with a folding hard top, and it sits at the top of Ferrari's front-engined range.

Launch and name
Ferrari revealed the car on 3 May 2024 at an event in Miami Beach, Florida. The location was chosen to mark the 70th anniversary of Ferrari's presence in the American market.
The name breaks with the pattern of the previous generations. The F12berlinetta and the 812 Superfast carried numbers that described power and cylinder count; the new car simply says what it is. The engine it names is a naturally aspirated V12 with no turbochargers and no hybrid system - a rare combination among new supercars of the mid-2020s.
The car was designed by the Ferrari Styling Centre under Flavio Manzoni. In 2025 it received the Car Design Award from ADI, the Italian association for industrial design.
Design: a nod to the Daytona
The shape is a clear break from the sharp, muscular 812. The 12Cilindri has smooth surfaces, a long bonnet and a cabin set far back, and its front end is a deliberate tribute to the 365 GTB/4, the front-engined V12 berlinetta of 1968–1973 that is better known as the Daytona. A black band runs across the nose between the headlights, and it is a fixed part of the design: it cannot be removed or painted in a different colour.
There is no fixed rear wing; the aerodynamic devices are hidden in the body until they are needed (see below). The car is 4,730 mm long and 2,176 mm wide on a 2,700 mm wheelbase, and it rides on 21-inch wheels front and rear, with Michelin Pilot Sport S5 or Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport tyres.

The V12 engine and performance
The engine belongs to Ferrari's F140 V12 family. In the 12Cilindri it is the F140 HD version, shared with the 812 Competizione: 6,496 cc, naturally aspirated, with 610 kW (830 PS) at 9,250 rpm and 678 Nm at 7,250 rpm. It revs to 9,500 rpm. Software called Aspirated Torque Shaping manages how the torque builds up in third and fourth gear, so that the car keeps pulling harder as the revs rise.
The 812 Superfast used a seven-speed gearbox; the 12Cilindri has an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission supplied by Magna (8DCL900). It also offers a "Manuale" mode that simulates a six-speed manual gearbox with fixed shift points.
| Version | Power | Torque | 0–100 km/h | 0–200 km/h | Top speed |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 12Cilindri (berlinetta) | 610 kW (830 PS) at 9,250 rpm | 678 Nm at 7,250 rpm | 2.9 s | 7.9 s | 340 km/h |
| 12Cilindri Spider | 610 kW (830 PS) | 678 Nm | under 3 s | 8.2 s | 340 km/h |
The figures for the berlinetta are Ferrari's claims as listed by Wikipedia; the Spider figures come from Auto.it's first report on the open car. The 610 kW (830 PS) output is the highest of any Ferrari V12 fitted to a regular production road car.

Chassis, aerodynamics and technology
Ferrari designed the 12Cilindri to be easier and more stable at speed than the 812, without fixed wings. The aerodynamics combine passive and active elements and aim for lower drag than the 812 Superfast. Two delta-shaped flaps are integrated into the rear bodywork. They stay flat at low speed and rise above 60 km/h when the car needs more grip, giving up to 50 kg of downforce at 250 km/h.
The car has four-wheel steering with independent actuators for each rear wheel, a development of the system first used on the F12tdf. In medium-speed corners the outer rear wheel can turn by up to 2.5 degrees. Braking uses a brake-by-wire system with 398 mm front discs and 360 mm rear discs.

Interior and digital displays
The cabin is a two-seater with a layout inspired by the Purosangue and the 296 GTB. According to Wikipedia, the 12Cilindri is the first Ferrari grand tourer without any analogue instrument: the driver faces a fully digital display. The traditional start button has been replaced by a touch-sensitive control. Auto.it notes that the boot holds 200 litres, a useful figure for a two-seat GT meant for long journeys.
The 12Cilindri Spider
The Spider was presented with the berlinetta in May 2024. Its roof is a two-piece aluminium hard top that opens or closes electrically in 14 seconds, at speeds up to 45 km/h. The open car is about 60 kg heavier than the berlinetta - Auto.it gives 1,620 kg - and it is a few hundredths of a second slower to 100 km/h. The engine output and the top speed of 340 km/h are the same.
In Italy, Auto.it reported list prices of €395,000 for the berlinetta and €435,000 for the Spider in February 2025.
The 12Cilindri Manuale
In July 2026 Ferrari added the 12Cilindri Manuale, a limited series planned at 1,499 cars. It brings back an open-gate gear lever and a clutch pedal, a set-up that had not been offered by Maranello since 2012. Technically the car keeps the eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox: a "Manual By-Wire" system uses digital actuators to reproduce the feel of a classic manual. Full specifications had not been published in detail by the time of writing.
