- For high mileage: the xDrive20d with 400 Nm and all-wheel drive.
- For performance: the M35i xDrive, 0-100 km/h in 5.4 s.

The BMW X2 is a compact premium crossover that BMW markets as a "Sports Activity Coupé": a lower, sportier relative of the X1 with a five-door body. The first generation (F39) was built from 2017 to 2023; the second (U10), on sale since early 2024, is longer, adopts a coupé-style roofline and is also available as the all-electric iX2. In Germany it starts at EUR 48,600 (2024) for the sDrive20i.
In short
- Two generations: F39 (2017-2023) and U10 (2024-), both front-drive based with optional xDrive all-wheel drive.
- U10 engines: mild-hybrid petrol and diesel from 110 kW (150 PS), M35i xDrive with 221 kW (300 PS) in the EU.
- iX2: 66.5 kWh battery, 150 kW (204 PS) eDrive20 or 230 kW (313 PS) xDrive30.
- Euro NCAP: five stars (2024) for the U10, according to ADAC.

The iX2 arrived with the U10 in early 2024 and uses the same body as the combustion models. The eDrive20 has a single permanent-magnet synchronous motor on the front axle with 150 kW (204 PS) and 247 Nm, enough for 0-100 km/h in 8.6 seconds and a top speed of 170 km/h.
