Updated Mitsibishi ASX 7

The updated Mitsubishi ASX is a universal car adapted to the needs of modern metropolitan areas. It is compact outside and spacious inside, economical, comfortable and safe. Technical characteristics of the parquet flooring do not make it a hostage of urban “jungle”. At the same time it is designed for country trips, picnics and recreation in nature. Power units

One of the two gasoline engines is installed under the hood of the new compact crossover:

• 1.6 liters (117 hp) allows you to accelerate the car up to 183 km / h, consuming 6.1 l / 100 km in a mixed cycle;
• 2 l (150 hp) provides a maximum speed of 191 km/h, consuming 7.7 l/100 km;

The two-litre all-wheel drive unit compensates for the significant difference in fuel consumption with the minimum difference in maximum speed.

Exterior

Mitsubishi ASX has received an updated appearance. Engineers changed the shape of the front bumper, which improved aerodynamics. The rear bumper was also refreshed with a decorative diffuser. The boot door is fitted with a chrome bar.

LED daytime running lights are placed in the bumper at a decent distance from the main optics. But this did not affect their effectiveness. Otherwise, the appearance remained the same.

Interior

Eco-skinned leather is used for the tunnel and steering wheel, in harmony with the glossy inserts. The steering wheel is distinguished by its improved shape, which provides a comfortable grip with minimal load on the hands.

The interior is made of a lot of plastic, but it is soft and pleasant to the touch. The overall concept of interior design is very simple and noticeably outdated for at least ten years. There is enough space at the front and back. There are plenty of extra pockets. Carefully thought-out arrangement of controls.

The dashboard has a display that shows the view from the rear camera. The screen also allows you to work with the settings and systems of the car. The disadvantage of this option is that it is not available in the basic configuration.

For top-of-the-range Instyle equipment we offer massive aluminum petals on the steering wheel. They are convenient and give a sporty look to the car. However, in terms of functionality in the automatic mode, there is no sense in them – just “decorative decoration”. For many, already familiar attributes of comfort in the form of climate control, light and rain sensors, remote access and keyless start are also available in this package. But for the basic one, only the air conditioner was left.

Manageability

With a 2-liter engine Mitsubishi ASX has good dynamics. Rapidly gains speed, reacts to commands with minimum delay. In general, it is easy to control, but off-road qualities leave a mixed opinion.

The model has a good ground clearance of 18.5 cm and a remarkable geometric cross-country ability. Any puddle, sand pit or dirt can become a serious problem. A few minutes of slippage is enough to overheat the four-wheel drive.

In the price range of Mitsubishi ASX has serious competitors, but everything is not so hopeless. The car has its advantages and admirers. Remember, it is difficult to give an objective assessment if you do not choose a specific “opponent” for comparison.
