Methodology

Production span = last production year − first production year + 1. When all generations are dated (at least two) we take the longest continuous run: a break of more than 12 years between one generation and the next (a name revived decades later) starts a new run. Otherwise the model record or its earliest and latest generation years are used. Models still in production count up to the current year.

Passenger cars only: trucks, buses and vans are excluded (the same rule as our rankings).

Values come from the 1CARS catalog. Part of the specifications are extracted from our articles and not yet checked by an editor; obvious outliers are excluded. Figures describe the cars in our catalog, not the whole market.
