Our verdict · Felix Hartmann
The 63 kWh 400 Pro is the most useful version: 420 km WLTP and the same 126 kW as the GT for €44,490 in the 2024 German list. The 48 kWh 300 suits town driving, but its 310 km and slow DC charging limit long trips. The boot of 228 litres is small for a car of 4.2 metres.
In size and price the Ora competes with the BYD Dolphin and the Volkswagen ID.3. The compare section sets them side by side, the electric cars section lists more small EVs, and other Ora models are in the Ora catalogue.
The Ora Good Cat is a compact electric hatchback from Great Wall Motor's Ora brand, sold in China since November 2020 and in Europe since October 2022. It was first called the Ora Funky Cat there and has been the GWM Ora 03 since 2024. Its rounded shape was drawn by a former Porsche designer, and it earned five stars from Euro NCAP in 2022. In Germany it has 126 kW (171 PS), a 48 or 63 kWh battery and 310 to 420 km of WLTP range, with ADAC list prices from €38,990 in 2023 and 2024.
Great Wall Motor announced Ora as a battery-electric brand in May 2018, and the first car, the iQ crossover, went on sale in August 2018. GWM says the name stands for "open, reliable and alternative"; it also honours the Swiss mathematician Leonhard Euler, whose name is written "Oula" in Mandarin. Ora is known for its "cat" models: the small Black Cat and White Cat city cars, the Good Cat, the Ballet Cat and the Lightning Cat saloon, sold in Europe as the Ora 07. The brand reached Europe, Thailand, Malaysia, South Africa and Australia in late 2022. The story of the parent company is told in the history of Great Wall Motor.

Brazil, Mexico and South Africa followed in the second half of 2023. In Europe it arrived as the Ora Funky Cat in October 2022 and was renamed GWM Ora 03 in November 2023. Thai assembly at Rayong began in January 2024; its end was announced in February 2026.

Versions, batteries and range
| Version (Germany) | Battery gross / net | Power | Torque | 0–100 km/h | WLTP range |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 300 / 300 Pro | 47.8 / 45.4 kWh | 126 kW (171 PS) | 250 Nm | 8.3 s | 310 km |
| 400 Pro / 400 Pro+ | 63.1 / 59.3 kWh | 126 kW (171 PS) | 250 Nm | 8.2 s | 420 km |
| GT | 63 kWh | 126 kW (171 PS) | — | — | — |
The figures in the table are from the ADAC catalogue for the German Funky Cat and Ora 03. The 47.8 kWh battery uses lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells from CATL; the 63.1 kWh pack uses nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) cells, also from CATL. The ADAC gives WLTP consumption of 16.7 kWh/100 km for the small battery and 16.5 kWh/100 km for the large one.
In China the car started with a 107 kW (145 PS) motor and 210 Nm, with ranges of 400 to 501 km on the generous NEDC cycle. A June 2025 facelift in China brought 126 kW (171 PS), 220 Nm and 430 km on the CLTC cycle, and a 57.7 kWh LFP battery arrived for Australia and the 2026 Chinese Good Cat.

Charging
| Battery | AC (11 kW) 0–100 % | DC peak | DC 0–80 % |
|---|---|---|---|
| 47.8 kWh | 330 min | 64 kW | 43 min |
| 63.1 kWh | 390 min | 67 kW | 48 min |
Fast charging is the car's weak point. With a DC peak of only 64 to 67 kW, a charge to 80 % takes 43 to 48 minutes. On an 11 kW wallbox a full charge takes five and a half to six and a half hours.
The GT version
The Good Cat GT appeared in Thailand in June 2022 with sportier bumpers and styling and a motor of 127–128 kW (172–173 PS). In Europe the GT was the top version of the Funky Cat and Ora 03, with the 63 kWh battery and the same 126 kW (171 PS) as the other German versions, according to the ADAC. In China the GT returned to the Good Cat range for the 2026 model year in November 2025.
