DS Automobiles is a French premium car brand of Stellantis. It began in February 2009 as a line within Citroën, and its first model, the DS3, went on sale in early 2010. The name recalls the classic Citroën DS of 1955–1975 and sounds like déesse, the French word for goddess.
DS became a separate brand in 2014, and in Europe the split from Citroën was completed with the facelifted DS5 in 2015. It belonged to the PSA Group from 2015 to 2021 and has been part of Stellantis since 2021. The range has included the DS 3, the DS 4, the DS 7 SUV (first called DS 7 Crossback), the DS 9 saloon and the electric DS N°8, with plug-in hybrid and electric versions under the E-Tense name. In Formula E the brand won titles with DS Techeetah in 2018–19 and 2019–20, and it leaves the series after the 2025–26 season. See also Citroën and Peugeot.
