Denza is a Chinese premium car brand owned by BYD. It was founded in Shenzhen in May 2010 as an equal joint venture between BYD and Daimler AG, now the Mercedes-Benz Group. The first model, the Denza EV, appeared in December 2014 and was sold only in selected Chinese cities.

In 2021 Mercedes-Benz cut its stake from 50% to 10%, leaving BYD with 90%, and in September 2024 it transferred its remaining shares, making Denza a wholly owned BYD subsidiary. The Denza D9 luxury people carrier was launched in August 2022, the N7 and N8 SUVs followed in March 2023, the Z9 and Z9 GT in 2024 and the N9 large SUV in 2025. Denza began exporting in 2024, starting in Southeast Asia, and opened a flagship store in Hong Kong that June. In 2025 it entered Europe with a launch event in Milan featuring the Z9 GT.
