Fabrizio Giugiaro Returns to the Gallardo With the Caven Hommage 26

Caven Atelier has revealed the Hommage 26, a carbon-bodied reworking of the first-generation Lamborghini Gallardo designed by Fabrizio Giugiaro, who drew the original car at Italdesign in 1998. It was shown on 31 October at the Concours at Wynn in Las Vegas. Only 25 will be built, from 900,000 euros in 2026 before tax and without the donor car.

Key takeaways

  • Rebodied first-generation Gallardo with an almost entirely carbon-fibre body.
  • 5.0-litre V10 reworked by Italtecnica, 8,500 rpm, manual gearbox.
  • Two versions: GT with 397 kW (540 PS) and Performance with 412 kW (560 PS).
  • 25 cars, from 900,000 euros in 2026 plus taxes and a donor Gallardo.

The original designer returns

Fabrizio Giugiaro, son of Giorgetto Giugiaro, now runs his own studio, GFG Style, which designed the Hommage 26 for Caven Atelier. The car opens what Caven calls its Designer Series, in which the people behind well-known cars rework them for today. "Returning to a project I designed midway through my career has been a fascinating and wonderful challenge," Giugiaro said, as quoted by Top Gear.

A new carbon-fibre body

Only five parts carry over from the donor car: the central roof section, the side windows, the windscreen, the door mirrors and their bases. Everything else is new and made almost entirely of carbon fibre. The front keeps the Gallardo's character but adds pop-down headlights and a concealed lighting strip linking the lamps and air intakes. At the back, active aerodynamic flaps similar to those of the Pagani Huayra sit above redesigned lights and a new diffuser, and a new engine cover runs from the roof to the tail, with an opening rear window that gives access to the engine.

V10, manual gearbox and chassis

The naturally aspirated 5.0-litre V10 has been reworked by Italtecnica to rev to 8,500 rpm and drives through a manual gearbox. The GT version produces 397 kW (540 PS) and the Performance version 412 kW (560 PS), although Caven says the full specification may still change. A new active suspension offers Comfort and Sport modes, the brakes are upgraded and the car rides on 20-inch wheels. The cabin gets new graphics and redesigned seats. Torque, weight and acceleration figures have not been released.

What it means for buyers

Each car is built on a first-generation Gallardo supplied by the owner or sourced by Caven, so the real cost is the 900,000-euro price in 2026 plus tax plus a donor car. That places the Hommage 26 in the same territory as the most exclusive restomods. Buyers also get priority access to the next car in the Designer Series. In the United States, the brand is represented by the dealer CURATED.
