Which Bigster to choose
Our verdict · Felix Hartmann
- For the lowest price and fuel costs: the Eco-G 140 on LPG.
- For mostly urban driving: the hybrid 155 with the automatic gearbox.
- For bad roads, snow and towing: a 4x4 version, now the Tribrid 150 with automatic gearbox.
- For seven seats: none of the Bigster versions in the ADAC list; the Jogger is the Dacia with a third row.
The Bigster's base is described in our guide to the Renault Duster, and the Dacia line-up history in the articles on the Renault Sandero and the Dacia Logan MCV. All versions are listed in the Dacia catalogue.

Bigster compared with the Jogger
| Figure | Dacia Bigster hybrid 155 | Dacia Jogger hybrid 155 |
|---|---|---|
| Length | 4,570 mm | 4,550 mm |
| Wheelbase | 2,702 mm | 2,898 mm |
| Height | 1,712 mm | 1,684 mm |

| Price (ADAC) | €28,890 (from May 2025) | €23,990 (from December 2025) |
- Both use the same 116 kW hybrid, but the Bigster is 60 kg heavier (1,494 against 1,434 kg) and 0.8 seconds slower to 100 km/h.
- The Jogger has the longer wheelbase and 61 l more boot space; the Bigster offers four-wheel drive, which the Jogger does not.
- With the hybrid 155 the Bigster carries 12.9 kg per kW, by our calculation.
- The Bigster is 28 mm taller than the Jogger (1,712 against 1,684 mm) and 20 mm longer, which gives it the more upright SUV shape.
Trims and running costs
ADAC lists three trim levels: Essential, Expression and Extreme. The hybrid 155 starts in Expression, the mild hybrid and Eco-G in Essential. The price steps in the 2025 list show where the money goes:
- the LPG version is €300 cheaper than the petrol mild hybrid with the same 103 kW;
- the full hybrid costs €4,600 more than the mild hybrid 140 Essential, but starts one trim higher;
- the Tribrid 4x4 Expression is €1,800 dearer than the front-wheel-drive hybrid 155 Expression.
In the April 2025 test the hybrid used 5.1 l/100 km on the on-board computer, about 9 percent above its WLTP figure of 4.7 l/100 km. For buyers who mostly drive long distances, the cheaper mild hybrid or the LPG version can be the more economical choice, because the price difference to the full hybrid is large.
Safety
Euro NCAP tested a Bigster 1.8 hybrid in 2024. It scored 69 percent for adult occupants, 85 percent for children, 60 percent for vulnerable road users and 57 percent for safety assistance. The star rating is not given in the source used here.
