Tank is an off-road SUV brand of the Chinese car maker Great Wall Motor (GWM). It grew out of a single model: the Wey Tank 300, presented under GWM's premium Wey brand in July 2020. In March 2021 GWM moved its off-road models into an independent Tank brand, which is positioned for worldwide markets, with an early focus on the Asia-Pacific region.
The first model of the new brand was the Tank 300, a body-on-frame off-roader with a ladder chassis, sold in China since December 2020 and exported to markets such as Australia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Mexico and Thailand. It was joined in 2021 by the larger Tank 500, in 2023 by the Tank 400 and in 2024 by the Tank 700 flagship. The Tank platform is designed to take petrol engines as well as hybrid and plug-in hybrid drive, so several models are offered with electrified powertrains. See also Great Wall, Haval and Wey.
