Omoda is a crossover brand of the Chinese car maker Chery. It was established in 2022 as an independent brand, positioned above the mainstream Chery models and sold only outside China. According to Chery, the "O" in the name stands for oxygen and "moda" means modern. Its sister brand is Jaecoo.
The first model was the Omoda 5, also called C5, a compact crossover that went on sale in 2022. Its battery-electric version, the E5, became available in 2024. In April 2023 Omoda made its global debut in Wuhu, China, together with Jaecoo, and in April 2024 it introduced the larger Omoda 7, also called C7, with plug-in hybrid versions from 2025. A smaller Omoda 4 has also been announced for the range. In Europe the Omoda brand launched in Spain in March 2024, followed by the United Kingdom in May and Italy in July 2024.
