Facel Vega was a French maker of luxury grand tourers. The company behind it, Facel (Forges et Ateliers de Constructions d'Eure-et-Loir), was founded on 20 December 1939 by the aviation subcontractor Bronzavia to make special components. Jean Daninos took it over in 1945, and Facel built car bodies for Panhard, Delahaye, Simca and Ford France.

In 1954 Daninos created the Facel Vega brand, and the first FV models were shown at the Paris show in October that year with Chrysler V8 engines. They were followed by the two-door Facel Vega HK500 and Facel II, and by the four-door Excellence of 1956. In 1959 Facel added the Facellia, a smaller sports car with its own four-cylinder engine, but the engine often failed and the warranty costs damaged the company; the later Facel III used a Volvo engine instead. Production stopped in 1963, and the factory closed in October 1964. See also Chrysler and Simca.
