Nissan Shows Three Off-Road Concepts at the 2026 SEMA Show
Nissan has unveiled three off-road concepts at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, based on the Frontier pickup, the Armada SUV and the Pathfinder. Auto123 and Carscoops reported the builds on 3 November. None is planned for production, but Nissan says earlier SEMA cars led to its Rock Creek trims, so parts of these designs could reach showrooms.

Key takeaways
- Frontier Ronin: twin-turbo 3.8-litre V6, track widened by about 305 mm, 35-inch tyres.
- Armada Jungle Patrol: roof replaced by a tubular cage, 37-inch tyres, 317 kW (425 hp) twin-turbo V6.
- Pathfinder XE-V6: 102 mm (4 in) lift and 1980s-style paint for the nameplate's 40th anniversary.
- Nissan brought six concepts to SEMA 2026 in total.
Frontier Ronin
The Frontier Ronin is the most heavily engineered of the three. Its standard 3.8-litre VQ38DD V6 gains a pair of turbochargers from a GT-R Nismo, ECUTEK engine management and a custom air intake, though Nissan has not quoted an output. The chassis borrows heavy-duty parts from the full-size Titan, the track is about 305 mm (12 in) wider and ride height rises by more than 102 mm (4 in). Bilstein Black Hawk adjustable coilovers, race-spec control arms and extended axles handle the travel. The truck runs 35-inch Yokohama Geolandar X-AT tyres on prototype 17-inch Nismo beadlock wheels, with a big brake kit. Carscoops called it the one it would most like to see at a dealer.
Armada Jungle Patrol
The Armada, the North American relative of the Patrol, has lost its roof. A black tubular roll cage replaces it, the rear seats face inwards like those of an old expedition truck, and the cabin has been stripped and fitted with bench seats. The engine is the standard twin-turbo 3.5-litre V6 with 317 kW (425 hp) and 700 Nm (516 lb ft), plus a Nismo exhaust. Long-travel suspension with remote-reservoir coilovers carries 37-inch Yokohama Geolandar tyres on prototype 18-inch Nismo wheels.
Pathfinder XE-V6
The Pathfinder build marks 40 years of the nameplate with red paint and black, charcoal and silver stripes in the style of the first-generation WD21. Its naturally aspirated 3.0-litre V6 produces 216 kW (290 hp) and 366 Nm (270 lb ft), as in the Rock Creek version. A 102 mm (4 in) lift, 18-inch wheels with mud-terrain tyres, new bumpers, rock rails, a roof rack, a Warn winch and a swing-out spare wheel carrier complete the look.
What it means for buyers
These are show cars, and Nissan has announced no prices or production plans. Auto123 says the builds also prepare the ground for the new Xterra. The most likely outcome is new Nismo Off Road accessories and factory packages in the United States, as happened with Rock Creek. European customers should not expect any of them in local showrooms.
