Saleen is an American maker of performance cars founded in 1983 as Saleen Autosport by Steve Saleen, a former Formula Atlantic racing driver. It is headquartered in Corona, California; production moved to Irvine in 2001, and a facility in Troy, Michigan, opened in 2004.
Saleen made its name with modified Ford Mustangs, starting with a supercharged 1985 car, and in 2002 it won the contract to assemble and paint the Ford GT, which made it a tier-one Ford supplier. Its most famous model is the Saleen S7, a mid-engined flagship introduced in 2000 and the company's only production car not based on an existing design or chassis. Later came the S1, an original sports car for road and track. Saleen has been privately held since 2017, and in 2025 its range included the 302 Mustang, the Sportruck pickups and the S1, while its Chinese joint venture had collapsed.
