Hennessey Performance Engineering is an American tuning company and car maker founded by John Hennessey in 1991. It is based in Sealy, Texas, about 45 minutes west of Houston, and became known for modifying cars and trucks from Dodge, Ford, Chevrolet, Cadillac, Jeep, GMC and Lincoln; one early project was the 1996 Dodge Viper GTS, upgraded as the Venom 650R.

In 2010 Hennessey revealed its first complete car of its own, the Venom GT. Based on the Lotus Exige, it had a claimed top speed of 435.31 km/h (270.49 mph), and three "World's Fastest Edition" coupés were made in 2014. In 2017 the company set up a separate division, Hennessey Special Vehicles, to build the Venom line, and on 1 November 2017 it unveiled the Hennessey Venom F5 at the SEMA Show. Only 24 Venom F5 coupés were planned, at 1.6 million US dollars each. See also SSC, Dodge and supercars.
