About Cupra
Cupra began as the name of SEAT's sportiest versions: the first, the SEAT Ibiza Cupra, appeared in 1996, and the name comes from "Cup Racing". In 2018 SEAT turned Cupra into a separate brand, based in Martorell near Barcelona and part of the Volkswagen Group.
In 2020 Cupra launched its first model developed specifically for the brand, the Formentor crossover. The range has since grown to include the Born electric hatchback, the Leon, the Ateca, the electric Tavascan and the Terramar.
