First-Generation NSX Owners in the US Get 3,000 New Old Parts

Honda has started selling more than 3,000 reproduction and replacement parts for the first-generation NSX in the United States through its Honda Heritage Parts programme. The parts cover the 1991-2005 car, sold there as the Acura NSX, and can be ordered through Acura dealers or the Honda DreamShop, Carscoops reported on 3 November.

Key takeaways

  • More than 3,000 parts for the 1991-2005 NSX are now on sale in the US.
  • Two categories: exact reproductions and newly developed compatible parts.
  • The range runs from camshafts and gearbox cases to headlights and a windscreen.
  • Honda plans to add other classic models to the programme later.

What the programme offers

Honda Heritage Parts sells parts in two groups. Genuine Honda Reproduction Parts are made with the same methods and materials as the original components. Honda Compatible Parts are newly developed pieces that replace originals no longer made in their first form. Which parts are offered for a given car depends on its year, model, trim and transmission.

The breadth is unusual for a 30-year-old car. For a 1994 NSX with the four-speed automatic gearbox, the engine list alone includes fuel injectors, the throttle body, exhaust manifold parts, the oil cooler, the alternator, cylinder head covers, camshafts and timing belts. Gearbox cases, gear shafts, shift forks and levers are available too. Beyond the drivetrain there are radiators, electrical connectors, headlights and tail lights, instrument gauges, wheels, brakes, shock absorbers, interior trim and a windscreen, down to spark plugs, wiper blades, fuel pumps and oil filters. Carscoops did not list prices.

From Japan to America

The programme started in Japan, where Honda announced Heritage Parts earlier in 2026. Japan also has the Honda Restoration Service, which offers full restoration packages for Japanese-market first-generation NSX models using the reproduced parts. That service has not been extended to the US. Mamadou Diallo, executive vice president at American Honda Motor, said the programme "was created to help our customers enjoy their classic Acura and Honda performance models".

What it means for NSX owners

Parts supply is one of the biggest worries for anyone running an older aluminium-bodied supercar, and a factory source for camshafts, gearbox internals and glass removes much of that risk for US owners. It should also support values, since a car that can be kept original is easier to sell. Carscoops reported no plans for Europe, so owners there will still rely on specialists and imported parts for now.
