About Rivian
Rivian was founded in 2009 by R. J. Scaringe and is headquartered in Irvine, California. It builds electric vehicles at its plant in Normal, Illinois.
Its first models were the R1T pickup, which in 2021 became the first electric pickup delivered to customers in the US, and the R1S SUV; Rivian also builds electric delivery vans, with Amazon as its first big customer, and has announced the smaller R2 and R3.
