Spyker C8 Aileron

The Spyker C8 Aileron is an exclusive sports supercar made in the Netherlands, premium class. A lot of important difference is mainly manual assembly of the car. The model was first presented in 2000. Nine years later, a new generation of the updated Spyker C8 was released. The machine surprises with its high quality of production and unique details. The whole model range is Spyker.

Exterior

Alieron is a continuation of the C8 Laviolette version, with a slightly different look and some updates. Despite the preservation of Spyker’s architecture, it has increased the rigidity of the frame by as much as 40% without adding extra weight. The size of the model has been changed insignificantly – the wheelbase has been increased by 10 cm and thus improved the quality of the road grip and increased the free space inside.

Moreover, the C8 rack has been extended to the front. The exterior design was designed according to Spyker’s racing and aviation heritage. The company’s common aluminum air intake was redesigned into an engine turbine in the form of hoods. The air flow itself, which can be changed by the vehicle, has slightly changed its direction.

Due to the high engine power, the grille has been enlarged in size, providing the unit with additional cooling. The grille has a V-shaped shape, as in previous generations of cars, but was already at an angle, giving the car a more sporty look. The Spiker Eleron headlights were also redesigned to match the new bodywork.

The headlights themselves received LED and xenon light. The glass dome, which was first introduced in 2001 in the brand C8 Laviolette, received an extension back, reducing the resistance, and increased the height of the cabin. The air inlet hole was left on the roof of the car.

Due to the increased wheelbase, the length of the door was increased, which made it comfortable to enter and exit the car. The rear diffuser has been modified for more functionality. Looking at the profile, the 19-inch rims in the Michelin Pilot Sport tires are striking.

Interior

Inside the Spyker C8 Aileron, the finish is much different from sports asceticism. Here you can find a good-quality leather, which differs in six varieties and is available in 14 colours. Looking at the interior of the car, you realize that Dutch tanners are real masters in luxury salons.

Very comfortable seats with practical side support and steering wheel, and after contact with which the car seems to be its own. Everything is made in a certain aristocratic style. Multimedia will please the driver with seven Kharma hi-end class speakers. Connection under iPod is possible. Chrome-plated sets are optionally available. Various toggle switches and aluminum located on the “torpedo” are one of the reasons for shopping in Spiker, not Lamborghini.

Specifications

As before, Spikeer is equipped with a central motor location and borrowed from Audi. In this case, there is a V8 atmospheric, 4.2 litre engine with an output of 400 hp. Five valves are provided for each of the cylinders. Three of them are responsible for the inlet and two for the exhaust emissions.

The torque is transmitted to the rear wheels via a sports, German, automatic ZF or manual Getrag 6-speed gearbox. The shock absorbers are arranged vertically. Eleron’s brakes are made of carbon ceramic, which corresponds to advanced technology. With an additional order, the car is equipped with composite carbon-ceramic discs.

Complections and prices

On the Russian market, the Spyker C8 Aileron can be purchased for about $238350. For additional equipment, you will need to pay a price that you can get from your dealer. Interestingly, the price in Russia is slightly lower than in Europe.

Clearly, it’s not a Ferrari, but it’s a different car. Yes, it is not so fast, but in the city mode it is hardly possible to meet a similar one, which is able to accelerate up to a hundred in 4 seconds. And the design of the Spyker C8 Aileron is unique.

The quality is confirmed by the manual assembly of the machines. And the interior decoration will not make you want to go to sleep on Spyker every day. This car is endowed with all the qualities of a fast-paced aircraft.
