Dodge Viper GTS-R

The Dodge Viper is the first sports car of the American manufacturer Dodge, owned by Chrysler Corporation. The first Viper car left the Dodge factory in 1992. In 2012, the car became the flagship of the SRT and until mid-2014 was known as the SRT Viper. The whole model range is Dodge.

Exterior

As the Dodge Viper GTS-R was created on the basis of the Viper GTS, the appearance of the two cars is very similar. The concept of the Viper was shown 11 years after the first model was released in 2000. Since the author of the design was a famous Japanese Osamu Shikado (worked in Chrysler since 1994), the car turned out to be simply impressive.

When creating this concept, Chicago was inspired by sports cars with advanced aerodynamic elements on the body. He initially liked the idea of big anti-wings in the back of the car.  Probably, that’s why the concept has found the style of racing cars, had a huge air intake on the roof, a large enough rear wing, a very developed diffuser right under the rear bumper.

Interior

In contrast to previous Viper concepts, which had relatively modest cabin characteristics, the Dodge Viper GTS-R was equipped with a full reel. The interior of the car included air conditioning, adjustable pedals and a premium audio system. All subsequent Dodge Viper models were based on this concept.

Specifications

Thanks to the skillful actions of engineers from the company Dodge, Viper GTS-R was able to take part in several races. Its standard power was swayed to 750 hp. The chassis was rebuilt from scratch by Paul Brown himself, a Reynard Motorsport engineer. When the plant’s support ended, the concept was still used by private teams for a long time.

The 2013 Dodge Viper GTS-R features are highly appreciated. Under the hood of the “American”, 640 horses are torn and dreaming at once. Specific power density is 411 hp per tonne. Give this car a straight line – and it will accelerate on it up to 330 km/hour. This is the maximum speed that was announced. The Dodge Viper GTS-R gathers “Sotka” in just 3.2 seconds. The engine volume is 8400 cm3, and weight is 1556 kg. Viper transmission type is 6 ICPD.

As you might expect, the cost of the Dodge Viper GTS-R is unknown. This is very typical of racing cars, which are produced in limited quantities. In 2006-2007, the Dodge Viper SRT-10 roadster model was supplied to Russia. Then four copies were sold. Beginning in 2007, the upgraded models have ceased to be supplied to Russia and Europe.

There are five generations of Dodge Viper cars in the world. It does not matter what kind of car the American brand is talking about. But if you are lucky enough to see Dodge Viper ACR with your own eyes, you are very lucky. It is almost impossible to see this supercar in Russia. It is fast, powerful and, of course, beautiful. This is exactly what a first-class car from a well-known manufacturer should be like!
